Having no internet connection can turn your day bad very quickly. And we cannot take control of a computer that has no internet connection. But there are a few things you can try yourself to see if the basic stuff is in order.

Lets start with a few of the most logical reasons. Check if the internet cable is connected to your computer, and check if that internet cable is attached to the wall outlet. In the case of a wired connection, no wire means no connection. Second, check if you can get a connection with the use of a different internet cable, connected to a different wall outlet. Are there more computers that have this problem? In that case you could have a bigger problem on hand, like an outage for example. In that case the internet provider needs to be contacted.

If it is the case that multiple computers have internet problems, you should try and turn off the modem for a short while.

If only your computer has problems with connecting to the internet you could try the next few steps. Normally, the modem hands out an IP address to your computer, which the computer can connect to the internet with, 192.168.1.50 for example. If your computer has been set to use a specific IP address, and that IP address is already in use by a different device, your computer would not be able to connect to the internet. To fix that problem, follow the steps below:

You have to select the options Obtain an IP address automatically and Use the following DNS server addresses, use the same settings as in the image above. Click OK and close all the open settings windows.

If these settings did not fix the problem, let us know and we will see if we can send one of our colleagues by to help you.
